Brrr… cold

I got very excited this morning about the prospect of snow.

My early morning habit of checking the weather app revealed a red warning note: “High disruption due to snow and ice”.  YES, I thought, finally a run in the snow!

A look outside,  however, showed a disappointing reality of greyness and dullness. Oh, well, back to bed… zzzzz…

  1. It’s ok! We all have those days 🙂

  2. Living in Memphis, snow is a community joke – because we have no infrastructure to handle it on the public streets so everything grinds to a halt, schools are closed, emergency information for non-injury wrecks is published on all the news stations, there are pickup trucks on the sides of the streets selling loads of firewood.
And yet, we all wait for the day snow is forecast. Emails and FB and tweets abound, hoping for snow. 2 times out of 3 it’s a non-event, a little dusting that quickly melts. But when it happens – even an inch – it’s party time. Kids everywhere making lopsided snowmen, everyone posting their runs in the snow, happily complaining and making soup for dinner to thaw out.
I’d have gone back to bed, disappointed, too!
