Rockin’ it…

You all know by now that my idea of cross-training is not yoga, but rather a rock concert.

No exception yesterday when my running buddy S and I headed out to see 3 Doors Down.

3 Doors Down

3 Doors Down are rocking it in London.

It was a very eclectic audience. Just by looking at it, you couldn’t have guessed what they were here to see: people in suits, people in jeans and t-shirt, girls in skimpy dresses, people of all age ranges from teenagers to grey-haired people looking in their sixties (and only some of them were there with their grandkids). One granny was head-banging. I am not making this up, Ask S! It was great seeing all these people in one place enjoying music. So sweet: a couple got on the stage and the guy proposed right there on the stage to his girlfriend. A little awkward, but so sweet and so courageous. The girl of courses said/nodded a Yes.

3 Doors Down rocked it. Though I am fairly sure that the songs they released in the UK must be different from the songs that I have heard being played in the US. The audience got crazy at songs that I have never heard before and I couldn’t believe the subdued quietness on some of the songs that I know were big in the US (well, Austin at least…and, Austin, hear that: this concert is my SXSW this year… :)).

Back to running today. Rain in the forecast tomorrow, so the long run will probably happen on Sunday.

Happy Friday!

The words you sing bring back memories
Of so many days that have gone
I look back and smile at those forgotten miles
And laugh at all that went wrong
What I am is what I want
And I’ll be this way ’til I’m dead and gone
