Life harmonizes – a bloggers event covering the Olympics & trying on new running shoes
Last night I went to a London bloggers meetup. I picked up a couple of interesting sites to check out and tried on running shoes…
The theme was the Olympics – of course, what else? 🙂
Before I talk about the meetup, I have to tell you that I am currently reading Stephen King’s 11.22.63. And a repeating phrase in this book is that “the past harmonizes” (it’s a great book – you should read it!).
Now, I can tell you that the present also harmonizes.
I used the opportunity to have a gait analysis done and try on a few pairs of their running shoes. Good to know that my gait hasn’t changed, and my neutral Asics Nimbus Gel are still good for me. I love my Asics! Need to get a new pair…
It was fun trying on different types of shoes. I couldn’t really quite find the right pair. Is anyone running in Mizuno’s? What’s your experience?
Anyway, back to the bloggers event.
One blogger stood out. He works in construction and has been involved with the London Olympic construction site for a number of years. He has been in the unique position of seeing the Olympic Park being built and he took pictures during the time. He took 12,000 photos! He started blogging about the progress on the construction site and sharing his photos. He was later picked by BT as one of the BT storytellers. If you want to check out his blog, here its is: Life inside the London 2012 Olympic Park.
If you want to check out which athlete or which team is most popular in social media, you can check out the Starcount Olympic chart. Starcount ranks social media popularity of athletes and celebrities. Looks like Team Germany needs more social media support. 🙂
Not sure I picked up any new blogging tips. It was interesting nonetheless as you can see for all different reasons.
Oh and if you were wondering what I meant by life harmonizes… I didn’t realize that the event was held in the offices of a company that allegedly has a focus on running apparel. I just went to get connected to a bloggers network. I found the location and the topic and the network quite harmonizing and matching my own blogging and personal interests. 🙂
