The smiles of Olympic athletes

What a weird Olympic opening ceremony. Weird to me only in the sense that I didn’t care much for the first half, but then got glued to my TV!

Olympic flame

I am always waiting for the athletes of all nations to walk into the stadium.

THAT is my favorite part of all Olympic opening ceremonies. A true picture of nation united. I love it!

A picture of excitement.

A picture of hope.

A picture of unity.

A picture of progress. Progress with each Olympics. I counted 4 or 5 countries that will have women competing for the first time!

And I love the smiles of all the athletes.

Can’t wait to see the cycling tomorrow (oh – today! LOL.)

  1. What did you think of the Olympic couldron? I had no idea what the significance of those copper petal things that came in with each nation was.

  2. The downside to living in China… I didn’t get to see the opening ceremonies…. Thank you for keeping us posted 🙂
